We are looking for smart, curious self-starters who are eager to learn how to work with large, complex observational datasets to help improve our understanding of the economics and behaviors of third party merchants selling on the Amazon marketplace. Knowledge of econometrics, reduced-form or structural causal modeling, as well as basic familiarity with Python or statistical software (Stata or R) is necessary, and experience with SQL would be a plus. Our team is especially interested in a strong econometrician, though we are open to economics Ph.D. students in any field.
You will learn how to build large-scale datasets and apply econometric analysis to real-life business problems related to the Amazon marketplace. You will collaborate with economists, machine learning scientists, and business strategists. Economist interns at Amazon enjoy access to world-class researchers, seminar series in economics, machine learning, and other topics, as well as professional mentoring.
This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week, with compensation being awarded on an hourly basis, that can lead to full-time economics or data science employment at Amazon.
To apply, send your CV, transcripts, and a cover letter to our mailing list at econ-internship@amazon.com and include "FBA" in the subject.
