ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Under direction of the Regional HR Manager, administers the FMLA, Medical Leave, Personal Leave, and ADA/ADAA for the Company.
* Provides support to, and acts as a back up for, the Benefits Supervisor in administering Benefits plans.
* Provides support to, and acts as a back up for, the Recruiter in scheduling and conducting interviews, making hiring recommendations, conducting reference checks, managing the onboarding process, and data entry for new hires. Ensuring all applicant information is collected and organized to support the Company's Affirmative Action requirements.
* Assists with or conducts new hire orientations and benefits enrollments for newly hired employees.
* Ensures employee files are accurately managed and maintained in accordance with record retention policies.
* Maintains and updates the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) with employee change information and benefits information. Extracts reports from HRIS as needed.
* Facilitates employment verifications for the company.
* Provides general support to SCS employees including faxing/scanning HR-related documents, printing out payroll statements, resetting HR system passwords and assisting with benefit open enrollment needs.
* Collaborates with all members of the HR team.
* Coordinates and/or supports employee relations activities to maintain positive morale.
* Participates in the administration of the Performance Appraisal process.
* Responds to employee inquiries in a timely manner.
* Demonstrates a commitment to Specialty Coating Systems' vision and core values.
* Creates and distributes various HR-related reports and documents as needed.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* May be directly responsible or back up to oversee the front desk including greeting visitors, answering and directing calls, and administering visitor paperwork.
* Maintains a high level of confidentiality when dealing with personal information.
* Complies with all company and facility safety policies and procedures.
* Performs other HR related tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelors degree in a Human Resources or Business related function strongly preferred. Human Resources certification (PHR or SHRM-CP) a plus. 1-3 years of HR-related experience preferred but not required. Experience utilizing an HRIS system is preferred.
