Job Summary:

Oversee team of entry to mid-level team members which provides planning, implementation and evaluation for specific system wide learning and development initiatives, designed to significantly improve performance.

Job Description:

Principle Responsibilities

  • People and Budget Management
    • Provides day to day support for Learning & Development team members.
    • Supports employees through regular coaching and company required performance reviews and salary adjustments.
    • May be responsible for communicating developed budgets and managing to the developed budget.
  • Participates in setting the strategic and tactical plan for learning and development and aligned initiatives.
    • Recommends high impact tactics for the selected initiative.
    • Designs the action plan for specific initiatives that support the strategic plan with the appropriate stakeholders.
    • Continuously assess, prioritize and revise plan as needed.
  • Designs the system wide and site learning solutions for assigned initiatives (assessment, planning, design, implementation, and evaluation).
    • Leads the implementation of the process across the business units.
    • Evaluates the effectiveness of the solution and address those findings within the given initiative.
    • Makes recommendations to system team around prioritization or change in tactical plans.
    • Accountable to achieve specific outcomes/deliverables while meeting pre-determined time lines.
  • Executes tactics that create process improvement opportunities within a given initiative.
    • Creates a set of metrics that measures the impact of the improvement.
    • Assures initiatives are designed to achieve optimal levels of standardization across the system.
    • Represents department on key teams related to the initiative.
  • Provides a high degree of specialized subject matter expertise and provides consultation to system leaders, content experts and professional staff.
    • Accountable for communication and planning across business units to assure sites are prepared and able to implement the improvement activity.
    • May lead project teams that support a selected initiative.
    • Other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, nursing or related field required
  • Master's degree in education, nursing or related field preferred
  • 5 to 7 years of learning and development experience required
  • 0 to 2 years of people management experience required

Lifting weight Up to 20 lbs. occasionally, Up to 10 lbs. frequently
