Summary:

The Sr. Manager Procurement negotiates favorable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts with suppliers and prepares and processes requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of goods, services and supplies for customer-related business processes or for internal use as a generalist or in a combination of Purchasing Disciplines.

Major Position Responsibilities
    Manages procurement and purchasing operations and implements the strategy to provide the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing
  • Maintains strategic supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, and implements systems for monitoring performance, assessing risk, and responding to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain
  • Collaborates with other functions to define current and future inventory requirements and manage inventory levels
  • Implements processes and systems and utilizes technical tools to analyze data and increase responsiveness to material demands
  • Oversees auditing processes to ensure procurement and record-keeping comply with any applicable industry or governmental regulations
  • Leads and manages the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination with concurrence from HR and General Managers

Basic Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree
  • Equivalent combination of relevent education and/or experience
  • 7-8 years prior experience in a similar position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance/Accounting
  • Experience in a DoD manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of government:
    • procurement and Trade Compliance regulations and procedures
    • FAR / DFARS / SOX / ITAR
    • contract administration principles
    • policies and procedures to support contracting methods
    • reporting requirements
  • Experience and use of IFS software

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of concepts, principles, practices and procedures of specialization to the completion of difficult assignments
  • Strong computer skills, administrative data control, scheduling and team interface
  • Strong written, digital and verbal communication skills in both an individual and team environment
  • Looks for ways to improve and promote quality
  • Must be able to possess strong, planning, execution and multitasking skills and have demonstrated ability to reprioritize on the fly
  • Must be able to manage quickly changing priorities while meeting deadlines
